SUMMARY:Skeiv Verden invites you to our International Conference on Intersectionality 2025!
DESCRIPTION:This year’s conference will be held on the 6th of November in Oslo (and streamed digitally).  \nFor 2025\, the theme of the conference is Intersectionality and Mental Health!  \nIntersectionality is a central framework for understanding how different identity markers interact in relation to society’s mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion. \nThis shapes both one’s quality of life and one’s access to support services. \nBy taking an intersectional approach to mental health\, we can gain a deeper understanding of both our own and others’ lives.  \n  \nSpeakers:  \nSkyler Jackson (he/him). Jackson is a psychologist and Associate Professor of Public Health in the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences at Yale University. His clinical work and research programme focuses on how people’s social identities (e.g.\, race\, gender\, sexual orientation) shape their everyday lives and influence their health and quality of life.  \nWinnie Nyheim-Jomisko (she/her). Nyheim-Jomisko is a psychologist and speaker at the Centre for Intersectionality. Her expertise is within cross-cultural psychology\, diversity competence\, minority stress and trauma\, and intersectionality.  \nIngrid Thunem (they/them). Thunem is a researcher and activist in the field of sexuality and disability. They identify as non-binary/trans and live north of the Arctic Circle.  \nPanel discussion on Decolonizing Mental Health. The panel will consist of Chisom Udeze\, Executive Director of Diversify\, Shanti Gylseth Sachane\, clinical psychologist in MSF (Doctors Without Borders) and deputy leader Foreningen for Interkulturell Psykologi (FIP)\, and Grace Tabea Tenga\, clinical psychologist\, art critic and board member in FIP. The panel will be led by Jessica Harnischfeger\, clinical psychologist at RVTS Øst and leader of FIP.  \nKoyote Millar (they/them). Millar is a poet\, singer\, psychotherapist and facilitator. They are curious and often confused\, keen to explore fears\, desires and old defences\, and are deeply grateful for all moments of joy and peace.  \nVikram Kolmannskog (he/him). Kolmannskog is a professor at the Norwegian Gestalt Institute\, a psychotherapist in private practice and an author.  He is queer and has a multicultural background with a Norwegian father and mother with Indian roots – something that is reflected in both his interests and work.  \n  \nVenue: \nHouse 21\, in Oslo. Digital participation is also possible.\nThe conference will start at 09:00 and end at 15:30.From 16:00-18:00\, we will have an after work at the same venue to keep the good conversations going!\nThe venue is universally designed and we can accommodate for different needs.  \nLINK TO REGISTRATION: https://gm56ccyzqdc.typeform.com/to/lhMAsDAZ
