The terrorist attack on 25 June 2022 was a targeted attack against queer people, and against our shared values. Since last year's commemoration, we have received a final judgement stating that the terrorist's goal was to kill queer people. At the same time, everyone in the area was affected. The terrorist attack has had major consequences for those who experienced it, and it has spread fear among queer people, both in Oslo and the rest of the country.
When you attack vulnerable groups, you also attack the values that are the basis for living together in a democratic society. The aim of terrorism is to divide us and spread fear among the population. We believe that the antidote is found in community.
That's why we want to invite you to mark the day with us. We will remember those we lost, show that we are united against hate, and celebrate life and love.
