In the workshops, participants will learn 12 skills and practice them together in a safe space. The skills are based on the therapeutic approach "dialectical behaviour therapy". The method is known for effective, specific methods of emotion regulation and interpersonal skills, which can be used both in everyday life and in crisis situations. Because we are Queer World, the workshops will of course be adapted to queer people with minority backgrounds.
The first workshops are on Tuesday 15 August and Thursday 17 August, both at 18:00. On Tuesdays, the workshops will be held at Queer World's offices in Oslo, while on Thursdays they will be digital. Both workshops will last for 1.5 hours. There will be 12 workshops in total.
You don't have to attend all the workshops even if you come to some. You can also join during the workshop series if you wish.
Anyone who is already a client of Queer World will be offered therapy during the workshops, while other members will be offered support sessions.
The workshops will be in English, but the therapy/support sessions can be in other languages as well.

All good things,
The health team in Queer World
Would you like to learn how to reduce your stress, sleep better, feel more comfortable in socials settings and communicate better within your community?
We invite you to join us in a series of workshops this autumn. The workshop will be held by Skeiv Verdens Health Team and the main focus will be emotional regulation, self-care and community building.
The workshops will teach the participants 12 skills and we will practice them together in a safe space. The skills are based on a therapeutical approach called dialectical behavioural therapy. This method in known for its hands-on techniques for emotional regulation and interpersonal skills, which are handy both in everyday life as well as in crisis situations. Because we are Skeiv Verden, the workshops will of course be made to fit specifically to queer people with a minority background.
The first workshops will be at Tuesday 15th of August and Thursday 17th of August, both at 18:00. The Tuesday workshops will be at the Skeiv Verden office in Oslo and the Thursday workshops will be online. Both workshops are 1,5 hours. There will be 12 workshops in total.
You do not have to attend all the workshops if you just want to take part in some of them. You can also join midway through the series if that suits you better.
All clients at Skeiv Verden will be offered therapy alongside the workshops, while other members will be offered support conversations.
The workshops will be held in English, but the therapy/support conversations can be in other languages as well.
