Training module 1: Learn how to hold LGBTQI+ competancy workshops

This module is aimed at resource persons from Queer World’s network, who want to become visible role models and active participants in society, both inside and outside the organization. The project started in September 2021 and a course module has so far been developed aimed at training peer supporters who want to hold LGBTQI+ competency workshops targeted towards youths at schools, adult education and asylum centers, as well as other representation assignments. Topics that are addressed and worked on during the course will help to see the connection between the participant's experience competence and how it can be used as a positive and supportive element in the work against negative attitudes and prejudices towards queer people with minority background.

  • This training program is aimed towards anyone who identifies as LGBTQI+ minority who seeks to take a more active role in the work for more inclusive societies. It is for you who wants to take ownership of the queer narrative through workshops and other Queer World events. You will meet people of all cultures, religions, gender and sexuality and is therefore a strength if you are interested in learning how to hold spaces for learning through dialogue. You do not need previous experience from organizing or facilitating workshops. All levels of experience are welcome. The only knowledge you need are your own experiences and LGBTQI+ with minority background. This is a space where we support and learn from each other.

  • The workshops will be held online and published on the Teachable learning platform. Each workshop will give you a wide range of tools, both personal and collective, to support minority background LGBTQI+.

You will be working a side with our experts and trainers and getting the support of our health team all the way.

  • This workshop has limited spaces. We aim to confirm participants on on an ongoing basis. We have an Intro meet-up in the 2 of October and the coursers are starting the same week.
